Water Heater Kits Now Available!

Did you know that electric water heating accounts for nearly 15% of your monthly electric bill? To help reduce this cost to our members, Surry-Yadkin EMC announces the start of our first energy efficiency program by offering an electric water heater efficiency kit. These kits, which include a water heater blanket, pipe insulation, a low-flow showerhead and faucet aerators, could help save you $70-$90 annually on your power bill.

These kits are valued at over $50 but Surry-Yadkin EMC is offering our members this kit at a cost of only $12.  This helps our members by offering a savings on their power bill, while at the same time helps us as a co-op to meet state mandates that have been put in place through Senate Bill 3 or North Carolina Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency legislation. This legislation requires a certain percentage of electric sales come from renewable energy sources or reductions in electricity usage through energy efficiency.

The co-op has purchased a limited number of these kits so they will be available on a first come, first serve basis. These kits can be purchased and picked up at our office in Dobson.

We certainly hope you will take advantage of our first energy efficiency program. If we can answer any further questions, please contact our office at 336-356-8241.
